This week, initiated by the PR department at MPQ, filming by an external camera team specializing in science features took place for the individual departments and research groups of the four directors at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ). On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, the Attoworld group led by Prof. Ferenc Krausz was targeted. The filming started with a video interview in which Prof. Ferenc Krausz answered questions about the scientific content and application areas of attosecond research and talked about motivations and visions. Afterwards, impressive footage was captured at MPQ in the lab using the attosecond beamlines, explaining how the lab works and also showing the scientists in their daily work on basic research. In the afternoon, another change of scenery and building took place. For with regard to the application of the extreme short-pulse technique for an individualized, medical diagnostic procedure, the measurement and analysis of a so-called "molecular fingerprint", it was time to visit the Biolab and the two Lex laboratories in the CALA research building at Coulombwall on the Garching campus. Here, too, the current research of the science teams, which is being developed in cooperation with the "Center for Molecular Fingerprinting" (CMF) in Budapest, was captured in motion pictures. So one can be curious about the result. At this point, we would like to thank all those involved who, on this day, aligned their work rhythm with the filming schedule and, with their active involvement, ensured an exciting portrait of the Attoworld group.
